The Black Cat In The Room

Stalking across the room with stealth,
He passed under the window sill,
Like a mini hunting panther,
Slowly moving in for the kill.

Every few steps he stopped and stared,
To scare his new found enemy,
The intruder was in his room,
Which was his marked territory.

He moved closer and bared his teeth,
And his enemy did the same,
He quickly raised his paw to strike,
And the black cat followed his game.

Angry now he suddenly pounced,
Then realised he'd made an error,
For the cat that was pouncing back,
Was his image in the mirror.
