When I was but a little lad, A simple joy I often had, Was to frolic along the shore, Catching fish, little crabs and more. Then when I was a youngish man, By the seaside I walked and ran, Admiring stars I couldn't reach, And pretty maidens on the beach. Now that I'm grown up I will spend, Many sunny days 'til the end, Sipping grape wine or drinking tea, While watching sunsets by the sea.
